In-Office Blephex Procedure

Central Saanich Optometry now offers Eyelid Hygiene Appointments using Blephex!

One of the leading causes of dry, itchy and burning eyes is eyelid inflammation known as blepharitis. Blepharitis is caused by buildup of natural bacteria along the lash line, which blocks the oil glands. Using a high-speed spinning sponge the Blephex tool clears the lid margins.

A thorough hygiene treatment also reduces residue left on the lash line by mites known as demodex. Demodex can be found in the eyelashes at any age, but become more common with age. With high mite populations comes greater irritation and chances of blepharitis.

If you struggle with dry, itchy and burning eyes book an appointment for evaluation today!
